September 15, 2016

For the second year in a row, the St. John's team finished first in its district and among the top eight nationally in the National Student Advertising Competition organized by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). In April 2016, the team placed 1st place in District 12 competition in New York City. In June 2016, The team placed 4th at the National Competition in Anaheim, California.

The 2015-2016 NSAC team was coached by Amber Chenevert, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Marketing, and Neil Feinstein, M.A., Assistant Professor of Mass Communication.

Each year the American Advertising Federation (AAF) partners with a major corporate client to challenge over 200 college chapters across the country to develop an integrated marketing campaign for a specific product, service or brand aimed at diverse target markets. The corporate sponsor provides a case study outlining the company’s campaign objective, the history of its product, its current advertising situation and a real-world situation facing the company. Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problem areas and collaborate to devise a completely integrated marketing campaign for the client.
