Paul R. Hage LL.M. '07 and Associate Dean G. Ray Warner Recognized for Outstanding Contributions in Bankruptcy Education and Scholarship

The Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association presented the 2013 Kathryn R. Heidt Memorial Award to St. John’s Law LL.M. in Bankruptcy alumnus Paul R. Hage at the 87th Annual Meeting of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) in Atlanta, GA. The Heidt Award, the highest honor awarded by the committee, recognizes outstanding contributions in bankruptcy education and scholarship.

Hage, a partner in the Southfield, MI office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, is a member of the firm's Insolvency and Reorganization Practice Group. He represents asset purchasers, unsecured creditors' committees, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings across the country.

Doubling the St. John’s honors, the NCBJ presented Associate Dean for Bankruptcy Studies and Professor of Law G. Ray Warner with its 2013 Excellence in Education Award in recognition of his contributions to bankruptcy education and the profession. This was the third such honor for Dean Warner this year. The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) presented him with its highest membership award, the ABI Annual Service Award, in the spring. And the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals, the world’s largest international insolvency organization, recently named him course leader of its Global Insolvency Practice course.

Dean Warner has helped to position St. John’s Law as a leader in educating bankruptcy practitioners. The LL.M. in Bankruptcy program is the nation’s first and only Master of Laws program devoted to bankruptcy law. It is led by a faculty composed of leading bankruptcy judges and practitioners and anchors the Law School’s diverse bankruptcy offerings, including the:
