- Transition from Cisco Webex to Microsoft Teams
St. John’s University will now align its communication and collaboration platform through a transition to Microsoft Teams and discontinuation of Cisco Webex. This strategic move supports efforts to streamline services, optimize resources, and reduce operational costs.
Key Dates:
- Last day for Webex cloud recording: June 2
- Last day for Webex utilization in Canvas: June 26
Where are my Webex recordings going? Your recordings will remain available to you through our 365-day retention policy.
Why Microsoft Teams? Microsoft Teams offers superior functionality to Webex, including advanced collaboration, integration with Office 365, and enhanced security features, despite having a different interface.
What about my existing classes? Canvas integrates with Microsoft Teams, allowing you to create and manage Teams meetings directly within your Canvas courses. This ensures that your online classes will continue without interruption and benefit from enhanced collaboration features.
