- Marketing students sought for National Advertising Competition classes

The Tobin College of Business is accepting student requests to enroll in Fall 2025's Marketing 4305: Advertising Research a course which leads into Spring 2026's MKT 4306 and May 2026's highly anticipated National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) sponsored by the American Advertising Federation.
As part of NSAC, students gain real-world experience developing a strategic marketing campaign for a corporate client. Facing off against schools from across the country, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) sponsored competition culminates with students pitching their campaigns to esteemed industry professionals.
The two three-credit courses require permission of instructor (for registration) and meets on Wednesdays from 10:30am-1:50pm. Tobin's Associate Dean Jason Berkowitz has been accepting inquiries from students interesting in enrolling and seeks to select an additional five senior or junior students - preferably with GPA above 3.0. Berkowitz also added that non-marketing students with some introductory marketing classes would be a welcome addition to build a team that represented many business perspectives.
The courses are co-taught by assistant professor Jeffrey Taylor from Tobin alongside Neil Feinstein, associate professor from the Division of Mass Communications at the Collins College of Professional Studies.
“For the students, this is not a course,” said Feinstein, “It is a real-world agency, and students are the employees who run the meetings, create the advertising, and present it to industry experts."
"If you are interested in a career in Marketing, Advertising, or Sports Marketing," adds Taylor, "This exciting course will satisfy your interest and prepare you for an entry level job in the industry. This intensive two-semester class is an actual real-life application of building an effective advertising campaign for a real client for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC)."
Tobin students interested are asked to contact Associate Dean Berkowitz at [email protected] with a short email of interest in being selected for inclusion in the program.
