Invitation to Founder’s Week: September 20–28

The annual Founder’s Week in celebration of our Vincentian and Catholic heritage at St. John’s University will take place from September 20 to 28. The theme is “Be Vincentian: Be a Healer.”

As usual, the week overflows with opportunities to remember our identity and mission. Something (and more than one thing) can appeal to everyone—from the “Lunch and Learn” gatherings, to University Service Day, to the Vincentian Convocation, to the prayerful worship for the Solemnity of St. Vincent de Paul.  

In addition, M. Therese Lysaught, Ph.D., will deliver the Vincentian Heritage Lecture on the theme of “Knowing the Impoverished: Poverty, Race, Ethnicity, and Catholic Bioethics.” Dr. Lysaught is the Rose F. Kennedy Chair in Christian Ethics at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University, and Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies.
