When St. John’s University accepted Taifha Natalee Alexander (nee Baker) ’12CPS as a first-year student, it did so on the condition that she achieve and maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA). Despite the stipulation, she leaped at the opportunity.
“When I visited campus for the first time, I knew this was where I was supposed to be.” That initial feeling, plus a strong desire to attend college in New York City, eventually led Kelly Almond ’08P, ’11GP, ’16Ph.D. to spend her entire academic career at St. John’s University.
At first glance, Foods & Dudes is a typical cooking show. It features all of the elements of the format—friendly hosts, a state-of-the-art kitchen, premeasured ingredients, and glamour shots of the finished product. However, once you peel away the layers of the web series, it becomes clear that this creation of two St. John’s alumni is more than just a workshop in the culinary arts; it’s a master class in living life to the fullest.
