St. John’s University’s Alumni Professional Development Series provides online learning from top alumni and industry experts. The St. John's Corporate and Foundations group hand-selects individuals who will discuss topics for business professionals seeking professional growth and those interested in learning about the latest trends in their industry.
The new SJYOU Loyal society celebrates alumni and friends of St. John’s who faithfully provide annual gifts to our University.
Michael Andrew Hall ’14CPS, ’15GCPS, enrolled in St. John’s University after serving his country for more than six years in the US Army, including combat deployments to Iraq, from 2006 to 2007, and to Afghanistan, from 2009 to 2010.
Mr. Hall brought those skills with him when he completed his military service and enrolled at St. John’s to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice on the Queens, NY, campus from the University’s College of Professional Studies, now known as The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies. He also earned a Master of Professional Studies degree in Criminal Justice Leadership at the University.
“My service in Vietnam changed me,” Msgr. Fink recalled. “It matured me and gave me a deeper understanding of human nature, of my own strengths and weaknesses, and those of others. It gave me a great feeling of appreciation and respect for men who serve in the military.”

SJYOU Loyal recognized donors who demonstrate their commitment and loyalty to the University by making a gift on an annual basis.
The Loughlin Society is comprised of donors who make annual gifts to the University of $1,000 or more.
The McCallen Society is a community of generous alumni, benefactors, and friends who have chosen to leave lasting legacies at St. John’s by including the University in their estate plans.
The Red While Club is the University’s giving society for Red Storm Sports. Gifts made through the club allow the University to prepare student-athletes to perform at the highest level, both in the classroom and on the field of play.
Members of this giving society have left an indelible mark on the St. John’s community, donating cumulative gifts of $1 million or more to the University during the course of their lifetime.

United by their love of St. John’s University’s Staten Island, NY, campus, 145 members of the St. John’s community joined together at the Campus Center for the Party on the Hill celebration during Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 27.
Ahead of Homecoming Weekend, St. John’s University’s annual Alumni Convocation Ceremony recognized nine graduates for their personal and professional accomplishments while embodying the Vincentian spirit of the University.
Frank Viola’s favorite baseball memory is of a game he pitched for St. John’s University during the 1981 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Northwest Regional Tournament against future New York Mets teammate Ron Darling—often dubbed the “Greatest College Baseball Game Ever Played.”
