Pope Francis has named Most Rev. Richard G. Henning ’86C, ’88G as the 10th bishop and seventh archbishop of the Archdiocese of Boston, MA. Archbishop-elect Henning is currently the bishop of the Diocese of Providence.

When the new Nursing Bachelor of Science degree was established at St. John’s, retired educator Mary Carole Schafenberg ’70Ed, ’80PD endowed a scholarship in her mother’s name. St. John’s mourns the passing of Robert “Bob” F. Kalenka ’84CBA, ’91MBA, ’24HON, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19. A graduate of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, Bob served on the Board of Governors and later served on the Board of Trustees from 2015 until 2023. In February, the Board of Trustees conferred upon him the title of Board Emeritus.
