St. John’s to Assist Local Community during Annual University Service Day
The St. John’s University family will gather to serve neighboring communities throughout New York City in celebration of the 23rd annual University Service Day, to be held on Saturday, September 21.

St. John’s University Hosts Summit for International Catholic Leaders
Last month, St. John’s University hosted a summit whose overarching goal was training lay Catholics to become leaders working for societal change. Four international cardinals attended, along with more than 125 people from 22 mostly Spanish-speaking countries.

Vincentians Launch Plans for 400th Centenary Celebration
The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in the life of the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians) as the global religious community celebrates 400 years since its formal founding. In anticipation of this celebration, the worldwide Vincentian family and St. John’s University are focusing on prayer, reflection, discernment, and programming to increase awareness of the impactful and enduring Vincentian charism.

St. John’s Partners with Catholic Charities in Social Justice Lecture Series
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the establishment of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens (CCBQ), St. John’s University is producing a series of social justice lectures with the Brooklyn, NY-based social services organization.

Students Donate Food, Other Essentials in Residence Hall Move-Out
A routine, end-of-school-year ritual became an opportunity for St. John’s University students to assist the needy and serve as responsible stewards of the environment. In cleaning out their residence hall rooms after the spring semester, students collected more than 2.5 metric tons of food, clothing, and household goods that were distributed to representatives of the Dax Program to support homeless students; St. John’s Bread & Life food pantry in Brooklyn, NY; and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Long Island.
