St. John’s University students have again turned a laborious, end-of-school-year ritual into an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the environment and the less fortunate. Students joined faculty, administrators, and staff in participating in St. John’s Saves, a residence village move-out effort that collected more than 3.5 metric tons of food, clothing, and household essentials.

Bishop Brennan Administers Sacraments to St. John's Community Members
The candidates received the Sacraments of Initiation at a Mass at which Bishop Brennan was principal celebrant, on Sunday, April 27, at St. Thomas More Church on the Queens, NY, campus. Focusing on prayer, study, and reflection, the OCIA process welcomes non-Catholics, and Catholics who may not have received one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation as children.

The St. John’s University community did what it always does at challenging times and gathered to pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, who died at the age of 88 in the early morning of April 21, Easter Monday. The beloved Pontiff made his last public appearance the day before on Easter Sunday.
