In the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report of the 2026 Best Graduate Schools, the part-time Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program in The Peter J. Tobin College of Business and the St. John’s University School of Law are listed in the top 100 and noted for their excellence and achievement.
The latest 2026 rankings saw the part-time M.B.A. program jump from a previous rank of No. 88 to No. 67 (tie). The School of Law is now ranked No. 62 (tie) out of 194 in Best Law Schools. U.S. News assessed schools on their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.
“St. John’s University is proud to have programs included in the top 100 of U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Graduate Schools rankings,” stated Simon G. Møller, Ph.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “This is a testament to the students that we enroll and the scholarship, commitment to excellence, and hard work of our faculty. Rankings like U.S. News amplify that a St. John’s graduate education helps to advance students in their current career or builds the foundation to start a new one.”
He added, “We are proud to see our part-time M.B.A. program rise 21 places to No. 67 in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. This jump reflects the efforts of our faculty, the talent and drive of our students, and our continued focus on providing a flexible, high-quality M.B.A. experience for working professionals.”
A part-time M.B.A. is appealing to professionals who are unable to take time off from job responsibilities to earn a degree. The flexible format at Tobin provides a workable class schedule and places less financial strain on students who choose to have a career while pursuing graduate studies.
The Best Graduate Schools rankings evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing. The rankings in these areas are based on two types of data: expert opinion on program excellence and statistical indicators that measure a school’s faculty, research, and students. By collecting graduate school data annually, U.S. News presents the most current figures on enrollment, job placement, faculty, and other critical quality indicators that help prospective students make informed decisions.
This year’s edition of U.S. News Best Graduate Schools features rankings of more than 1,000 universities. Prospective students can learn how St. John’s compares to other institutions and how the rankings are calculated at usnews.com.
