St. John’s University Graduates Thrive in Competitive Job Market

Six months after graduating, nearly 91 percent (90.9 percent*) of St. John’s University’s Class of 2024 is employed or continuing their academic pursuits—a testament to the University’s commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom. 

“St. John’s University graduates remain a top choice for employers in the current competitive labor market,  locally and nationally,” said Ellen Burti ’83C, ’87GEd, Assistant Vice President for Career Services. “Our students’ career paths lead them to multiple employers spanning industries from government and nonprofit to business, health care, and education. For those who choose to continue their education in graduate and professional programs, St. John’s graduates are represented among top colleges and universities nationwide.”

A Bright Future in Diverse Fields

St. John’s graduates make their mark across various industries, securing employment at some of the nation’s most well-respected companies and organizations. Now a part of the University’s more than 200,000 alumni network, they have joined leading firms in business, finance, technology, health care, and government, highlighting their diverse opportunities. 

Health care remains a vital sector for many St. John’s graduates who are recruited by world-renown institutions such as NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Northwell Health. Notable employers in business include EY, IBMPwCProtiviti, and Starr Insurance, reflecting the University’s strong industry connections. Others have ventured into media and entertainment, securing positions at NBCUniversal, the New York MetsMadison Square Garden, and Penguin Random House. At the same time, those pursuing legal and public service sectors have joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, New York City Council, and New York Police Department.

Prestigious Academic Pursuits

For those choosing to continue their education by pursuing advanced degrees, members of the Class of 2024 have been accepted into some of the country’s top graduate programs, including St. John’s University; Ivy League institutions such as Cornell University, Columbia University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania; and other top-tier national universities such as Duke University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Notre Dame.
