Albert Bateh ‘16TCB couldn’t resist the chance to to tell Intro to Business first-year students about his entrepreneurial enterprise, EZ-Net Haircare. On October 6, 2016 he captivated the class with his business success story about his patented hair care product.

“I used to get annoyed when someone at home would borrow my hair brush and bring it back tangled with hair. About two-and-a-half years ago I had the bright idea to cover the brush with a net so the hair that was getting trapped could be easily removed off by lifting the net,” said Bateh. “Given the novelty and usefulness of the product, my family helped me get the concept filed for patent protection.”

Before graduating last spring, Bateh participated in the James and Eileen Christmas Business Plan Competition hosted by the Tobin College of Business where he placed first, netting a cool $5,000 first prize. The following month, the Tobin College sponsored a trip to California so he could present his business plan in a pitch burner competition at California State University, Chico where he won $1,000 in the ‘Readiest to launch’ category. Since that time, Bateh has expanded sales, building his wholesale network and online sales at eznethaircare.com. He thanked William Reisel, Ph.D., professor of management, for serving as his business plan competition mentor and invited students looking for employment to join his EZ-Nets sales team. Daniella Pepa, an aspiring finance major and entering frosh said “knowing that Mr. Bateh is a young entrepreneur and an alum, inspires me to believe in myself and be determined to never give up.”
