Dedicated to helping children stricken with cancer and other medical conditions, the St. John’s University community will gather on March 20 for the annual St. Baldrick's/Locks of Love event.
St. Baldrick’s participants shave their heads in solidarity with children suffering from cancer. At the same time, they raise money for childhood cancer research. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Last year’s event raised nearly $40,000.
Students, faculty, and staff with longer hair can give it to Locks of Love, a not-for-profit organization that donates hair 10 inches or longer to produce wigs for children suffering from any illness-related hair loss.
Featuring games and raffles, the St. Baldrick’s event takes place on the Queens campus, with key members of the University participating.
For more information or to register, visit the St. John’s page on the St. Baldrick’s website; or contact Angela Seegel, campus minister: 718-990-2680, [email protected].
We hope to see you there!
