Bukhari Lab Receives Grant for AI Drug Repurposing Research

The Bukhari Lab at St. John’s University has been awarded a $562,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools that can help identify existing medicines that may have new applications for serious respiratory diseases. The three-year project will bring together AI, computer science, pharmacy, and biomedical research, while providing students with hands-on experience in NIH-funded research.
