Trent Anderson serves as Associate Dean, Enrollment and External Relations for St. John’s University School of Law and supports marketing, communications, outreach, recruitment, admissions, fund-raising, branding and public relations for the Law School. Dean Anderson is responsible for the Office of J.D. Admissions and the Office of Graduate Studies, which includes graduate degrees in U.S. Legal Studies, Transnational Legal Practice, Bankruptcy, and Real Estate (starting Fall 2023). Dean Anderson teaches Introduction to Law and Advanced Negotiation for J.D. students and Introduction to U.S. Law and Lawyering for foreign-trained attorneys.
As past Co-Chair for the Section on Institutional Advancement of the American Association of Law Schools (AALS), he led the section of this organization of 179 U.S. law schools relating to alumni relations, communications, development, external affairs, government relations and public relations.
Dean Anderson holds a J.D. and an M.B.A. in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Southern California (U.S.C) and earned his bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.). Dean Anderson passed both the California and New York bar examinations.
Prior to joining St. John’s Law, Dean Anderson spent over 25 years working at several Fortune 500 companies in the publishing, education, entertainment, telecommunications, and technology industries. Dean Anderson lectured in Business Law at U.S.C. and has written or co-authored over a dozen books on test preparation and college and graduate school admissions.
