Housing
The School of Law is located in a quiet, safe, inexpensive and suburban neighborhood in Queens, about 12 miles from Manhattan. St. John’s understands that many incoming students will need to relocate to the area, and we would like to provide you with the information to make this transition as smoothly as possible.

Message from the Student Services Team
The Student Services Office oversees student life and wellbeing at St. John's Law. We offer academic advising and personal counseling, provide support for students with disabilities, and develop programs that complement the law school curriculum and enrich the student experience both in and beyond the classroom. We're here to help you thrive at the Law School and to manage any concern, conflict, or wellness challenge you may encounter during your time here.
The Student Services team maintains connections with other resources on campus, including the Office of Residence Life, Center for Counseling and Consultation, Disability Services and the Title IX Office. We focus on issues affecting the student community and act as the primary liaison between students, faculty, the administration, and the main University. To achieve this, we host a number of student-focused events from wellness programs to presentations on academics or the bar exam. Additionally, we coordinate a robust peer-mentorship program geared to help you build community and connect to others during your time here.
We encourage all students to seek out and create opportunities to enhance their learning in and outside the classroom. We foster and open door policy and encourage students to visit our office to ask questions or share concerns affecting the Law School community.
Public Safety
St. John’s University Department of Public Safety provides safety and security services to our community 24 hours per day, every day of the year. We work together with our partners on and off campus to create and maintain a safe and secure learning environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors.
