Former Manager, Pro Tennis Operations & Tournament Director, US Open Wheelchair Championships
George is an experienced event management executive. He is the former Tournament Director for the US Open Wheelchair Championships; the operational lead for Team USA at international wheelchair tennis competitions, and manages player operations at the US Open Tennis Championships. George also provides operational support at all Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup home ties.
George has been part of the United States Tennis Association’s tournament management team since 2011. His duties and responsibilities at the USTA are focused on providing exceptional customer service to players, their support team, family members, and entourage. He also is directly involved in innovating and establishing diverse and equitable solutions for all event stakeholders.
During George’s long history in the sports industry, he has had the privilege of working for the New Jersey Devils, the Meadowlands Sports Complex, Major League Baseball, the Newark Bears, and New York Red Bulls. He’s directly managed the operations and logistics of world-renowned events such as the US Open Tennis Championships, MLB’s World Baseball Classic, the Caribbean World Series, the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Championship, and FIFA’s World Cup.
George is a 1991 graduate of St. Vincent’s College at St. John’s University with a B.S in Athletic Administration. He recently secured an M.S. degree in Meetings and Event Management from San Diego State University (2022)
