Brian K. Harte, Ph.D., receives Best Paper Award from the International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research Virtual Conference

Brian K. Harte, Ph.D., received a Best Paper Award from the International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research (IOSSBR) at their virtual conference held from August 5 to 7.

Dr. Harte's paper, “Innovative Approaches, Tools and Techniques for Teaching Generation Z Criminal Justice Students,” examines promising mediated active learning supported strategies, technologies, and tools in support of student learning. Technologies and tools including polling, gamification, virtual reality, and augmented reality, and their applications for teaching criminal justice students in both traditional classroom and online learning environments, were explored. Approaches and techniques for constructing learning activities utilizing the aforementioned technologies in alignment with Bloom’s taxonomy were also examined.

The IOSSBR is an international society of scholars, academicians, and practitioners who exchange ideas and collaborate in a conference setting. Over the past decade, the society has had conference participants from 35 different countries around the world.
