While only one year has passed since 2018 graduates earned their degrees, 94.3 percent of that St. John’s class are either employed or enrolled in graduate school, according to a report from University Career Services.

“St. John’s graduates are highly competitive candidates, meeting the needs of an evolving global workforce,” said Paulette Gonzalez, Executive Director of University Career Services. “In addition to the rigor of our academic programs, employers and graduate schools seek the career competencies that St. John’s students embody, such as leadership, professionalism, and teamwork.”

More than 75 percent of graduates found employment in their desired fields, including positions at top employers such as Apple Inc., ESPN, Estēe-Lauder Companies Inc., Federal Bureau of Investigation, KPMG, New York City Department of Education, and NewYork-Presbyterian, as well as service organizations such as AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and Teach For America, Inc. Last year, more than 260 companies came to St. John’s to recruit students.

Each year from 2015 through 2018, more than 94 percent of St. John’s graduates were employed or pursuing a graduate degree within six months of their Commencement. These graduates are among St. John’s more than 184,000 alumni, and more than 90 percent of them call the New York City metropolitan area home.

Of the class members who pursue graduate degrees, more than 67 percent are enrolled in a master’s program, while 21 percent seek an M.B.A. Three percent are pursuing a Ph.D., and 7.5 percent are enrolled in law school.
