The complete guide to vehicle and parking regulations is available from the Public Safety Department and can be accessed online through the Public Safety link on the University’s website at www.stjohns.edu/publicsafety. Here you will find information on types and terms of permits, where to park, enforcement and fines.
In order to accommodate the parking needs of the University community, the Department of Public Safety has developed a Parking Program. All members of the University community who wish to park on campus must have an appropriate parking permit issued by Public Safety. Employees can apply for a parking permit in person or online by logging onto the University Information System (UIS) from MySJU. Once logged on, go to the “Personal Information” tab, click on “Parking Permit Application” and then follow the onscreen instructions.
Parking on campus is not an entitlement and is limited by available parking space. Parking privileges can be refused or revoked at the discretion of the University. When a person accepts a permit, he or she does so with the following understanding:
All vehicles parking on University grounds must display an appropriate parking permit issued by the Department of Public Safety. This includes administrators, staff members, food service employees, commuter students, residence village students, faculty house members, faculty members, maintenance, outside vendors and visitors.
University members and non-University members who park their vehicles off-campus and in areas adjacent to the campus are cautioned to respect the privacy of the neighborhood and to ensure that driveways are not blocked.
