Spring Closing (End of the Spring Semester)

• Residence Halls will close at noon on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
• Check out appointments begin on Monday to Thursday, May 4-14. (The last appointment is May 14 at 11:45 a.m.)
• Please review the Move Out website for additional details.

Graduating Residents: As a courtesy, students coded as graduating in our system will have until 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026 (Commencement Day) to check out. If you are graduating or have permission to participate in the commencement ceremony, you must complete Housing Extension Request Form and select “Graduating Student” under "Nature of Request" section. Information regarding can be found on the Commencement page.

Summer Housing

Summer housing for students who are registered for classes offers a practical and convenient living arrangement, allowing students to stay on or near campus while they complete their academic coursework. Taking summer classes and staying on campus can be a highly beneficial experience.  Summer housing provides access to campus resources such as the library, recreational/fitness locations and University offices. 

Students enrolled in summer classes should apply for housing through the Office of Residence Life and submit a $200 deposit along with the summer housing application. Please note that dining options on campus are limited during the summer months, so you'll need to plan your meals.

Students who are interested in remaining  on campus, but are not enrolled classes, should apply for housing through the Office of Conference Services.

Summer Housing Application Due Dates:

• Summer Session I Applications Due: Monday, May 11, 2026
• Summer Session II Applications Due: Monday, June 22, 2026

Summer Housing Sessions and Rates, Valid Summer 2026:

Important Notes:

• There will be an additional housing charge applied to your account to reside on campus prior to the start of Summer Session I.
• You must pay a $200 deposit to Student Financial Services.
• You must be officially enrolled as a summer student and registered for 3 or more credits per session to be eligible for summer housing.
• Your bill must be paid prior to the check-in day for each summer housing session.
• If you do not check in 3 days after your first summer class begins or provide written notification that your arrival date has changed, your housing assignment will be cancelled.

Summer housing applications for students who are currently residing in the DePaul Houses are due on Friday April 24, 2026.

IMPORTANT SUMMER HOUSING INFORMATION

Summer housing placements are contingent upon the total number of requests received and may require students to be relocated within the DePaul Houses.

To allow adequate time for planning, it is important that students who are currently residing in DePaul and are requesting summer housing submit their Summer Housing Application no later than Friday April 24th.

Winter break housing offers housing for current resident students staying on campus during the winter holiday season when regular-term housing closes. 

Winter Break Closing (End of the Fall Semester)

• Residence Halls will close at noon on Sunday, December 20, 2026.
• Check out appointments begin from Monday to Sunday, December 14-20. (The last appointment is on December 20 at 11:45 a.m.)
• Residence halls reopen by appointment on Tuesday, January 19, 2026.

Winter Break Housing Extensions (1-3 Days)

Please use the Winter Break Housing form (available beginning 11/19) to apply for an extension in your current residence hall space. We can accommodate stays of 1-3 days at a cost of $100/day.

The Winter Break Housing form is due by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Keep in mind that only residents who are continuing their housing agreement into the Spring 2025 semester are eligible for Winter Break Housing.  Also, the dining hall will be closed; therefore, you must plan for your meals. Limited dining options will be posted on the Dine on Campus page.

Winter Break Full Stay (Noon December 20, 2026-January 19, 2027)

Please use the Winter Break Housing form (available beginning November 19, 2025) to apply for full break housing.

In applying for Winter Break Housing, the following charges will be applied to your account. Please note that this balance must be satisfied along with your Spring 2026 term bill to remain in university housing for the Spring 2026 semester.
