Register for Summer Online Teaching Essentials Course

Registration is now open for the summer session of the Online Teaching Essentials (OTE) course, an opportunity to expand your teaching skill set and become certified to teach online and hybrid courses at St. John’s University.

This four-week, asynchronous online course addresses the design and teaching of online and hybrid courses. You work in a hands-on environment designed to provide an authentic online student experience while developing your online teaching skills. It is facilitated by St. John’s faculty with considerable online teaching experience. 

You can expect to spend between eight to 10 hours per week on the course, so please plan accordingly. We strongly encourage you to complete it at least one semester in advance of your first hybrid or online course offering.

Successful completion of OTE is the primary method to be eligible to teach any of the University’s fully asynchronous online or hybrid courses.
