Your St. John’s University Email Address

Issued Within One Week After Deposit Submittted
It is important that you stay connected with this email address, as the University will be sending important enrollment information to this address throughout the summer. The Online Patient Portal (see “Medical Forms” below) and Online Placement Exam Platform (see “Placement Exams” below) will require this email address to complete as well. Generally the email address is issued within one week of the student submitting the $300 enrollment confirmation deposit.

Once you receive your St. John's email address, you can access your email account by:

  • Visiting My SJU
    • Your MySJU username is your St. John's email address without ""
    • Your password will be as follows (Sj + the eight digits of your X-number, without the X [i.e., Sj12345678.])

Please remember that both UIS and MySJU share the same passwords. If you change your password for UIS, allow for 5-15 minutes for the password change to be effective before logging into MYSJU. Please do NOT change your password/PIN more than once in a given day.

Medical Forms

Spring 2020: Due as soon as possible after January 4, 2020
Fall 2020: Due as soon as possible after May 1, 2020

As per New York State Public Health Laws 2165 & 2167, all students must submit proof of immunization to measles, mumps and rubella as well as complete a meningitis response form.  Students who are not in compliance with these laws will not be permitted to move into their residence hall and will not be able to attend classes.

  • Download the forms here and submit the completed forms through Student Health Services online portal. Please note we are unable to accept these documents via mail, fax, or email.

Official SAT/ACT Test Scores (Disregard if you applied test-optional OR if you have already submitted)

Due as soon as possible
You can submit these in one of three ways:

  • Have your school counselor submit your official SAT/ACT scores directly to St. John’s via, or
  • For SAT only, you can request that the College Board submit your official scores directly to St. John’s, or
  • For ACT only, you can have the ACT Company send you your official scores, then you can upload those to your Online Student Portal.

We require these to complete your enrollment at St. John’s, so failure to submit it may result in loss of any financial aid you have received. Further details can be found on Page 8 of the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Final, Official High School Transcript

Spring 2020: Due January 11, 2020
Fall 2020: Due July 15, 2020

You can ensure submission by the above deadline by:

  • Transcript Request Form (PDF) Print, complete and submit to your guidance counselor BEFORE your last day of classes.

This is issued by your high school after the last day of classes. To be considered “final and official,” it must contain your date of graduation. We require this document to complete your enrollment at St. John’s, so failure to submit it may result in loss of any financial aid you have received. New York State home-schooled students must submit a final copy of their academic transcript from a State-recognized Home School Agency and a letter from the local school district verifying graduation. Further details can be found on Page 8 of the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Placement Assessments (Queens Campus Only; Fall 2020 Term Only)

Fall 2020: June 2020
Qualifying students will hear from University Freshman Center beginning in late April or early May with further instructions regarding how to complete the placement exams. It is important that these exams are completed as soon as possible, as these scores are required in order to register for fall classes. Students admitted to the following programs will be required to submit placement exams prior to class registration.

  • St. John’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Economics (B.A.), Environmental Science (B.S.), Math (B.A. and B.S.), Physics, Undecided (B.S.)

  • The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies: Computer Science, Cyber Security Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications

The assessments are completed using a web-based program called ALEKS® PPL, a McGraw-Hill product.  Each assessment includes up to 30 questions and generally takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete. At the end of each ALEKS® PPL assessment, modules become available for you to refresh your knowledge of forgotten topics to improve your course placement.

ALEKS® PPL allows only six weeks from the initial sign-in date to complete the program, which includes an initial assessment and a second assessment. Therefore, you are advised to complete the initial assessments within one week of receiving your initial invitation email.

For all information on ALEKS® PPL, click here.
*Before you take an assessment, please be sure to review the “MUST Read before accessing ALEKS® PPL” section in the above link and view the video overview of ALEKS® PPL.
