Alumni Spotlight: Michael Marrazzo Jr. ’04TCB
When Michael Marrazzo Jr. ’04TCB first stepped onto the Queens campus of St. John’s University, he was searching for more than a degree. He wanted a place to grow both personally and professionally. What he found at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business was not only a strong business education, but also a community rooted in leadership, resilience, and Vincentian values that continue to guide his life today.

“If not for St. John’s, I would not have developed the leadership, communication, and values that guide my life today."
Raised in an environment that emphasized hard work and faith, Michael was drawn to St. John’s commitment to service and excellence. “Needless to say, I fell in love with it,” he recalled. That decision set him on a path that would take him from the lecture halls of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business to the trading floors of Wall Street—and ultimately into the world of entrepreneurship.
While at St. John’s, he earned internships at Deutsche Bank, where he gained early exposure to global finance. Those experiences, coupled with his coursework, helped him develop resilience, discipline, and analytical skills. After graduating, he built on that foundation with professional roles at Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, and in the hedge fund sector. These early years taught him how to manage complexity, assess risk, and lead under pressure—skills that later became invaluable as an entrepreneur.
Despite a promising career in finance, Michael was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. “I developed the mindset: be comfortable being uncomfortable,” he explained. That perspective prepared him to build something of his own.
Today, Michael is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Facility Solutions, a national facilities management company headquartered in Holmdel, NJ. Summit provides integrated services—commercial cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, and security—to clients across the US and Canada.
His leadership philosophy is defined by collaboration and shared success. He surrounds himself with top performers, offering equity and ownership opportunities to align them with the company’s long-term vision. “Together, we grow, scale, and create something greater than any one of us could alone,” he said. This model has positioned Summit as a trusted partner to Fortune 500 companies and set it on a trajectory for long-term growth.
Michael’s entrepreneurial drive extends into philanthropy. He is the founder of Gifts from Gotham, a nonprofit platform that helps bring charitable visions to life by giving individuals and organizations the structure to transform ideas into impact.
At the heart of the initiative is a replica of the 1989 Michael Keaton Batmobile—built from Michael’s lifelong passion for cars. For him, the Batmobile is more than a showpiece; it symbolizes imagination, hope, and the idea that anyone can be a hero in their community. Through this creative centerpiece, Gifts from Gotham unites storytelling with philanthropy, making giving both impactful and inspiring.
Michael’s journey has been defined by resilience, creativity, and a willingness to embrace risk. “Failure has been one of my greatest teachers,” he noted. “Each time I stumble, I ask myself, ‘What did I learn and how can I be better next time?’”
As he continues to expand Summit Facility Solutions and grow his philanthropic initiatives, Michael remains deeply connected to the foundation built at St. John’s. “If not for St. John’s, I would not have developed the leadership, communication, and values that guide my life today,” he said.
From Wall Street to building national brands—and from founding companies to creating platforms for giving—Michael Marrazzo Jr. ’04TCB exemplifies the resilience, leadership, and Vincentian spirit fostered at St. John’s University. His journey shows the power of education, passion, and purpose—and how one alum continues to make an impact far beyond the classroom.
