Lexie Wingfield is from Largo, MD, and graduates in May 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree from the Collins College of Professional Studies. She is a Communication Arts major, with a focus in TV and Film. After graduation, she plans to work in the production department of HBO or Viacom and remain in New York before ultimately moving to California to start her career as a producer and creative project manager, focusing on stories of marginalized groups in America.

“I have been blessed with the ability to tell stories, so my goal is to share the stories of people who cannot share it themselves,” she said.

She chose St. John’s because she has always loved New York, but came from a suburban area similar to Queens. St. John’s campus was the best of both of these worlds. Her time at the University has allowed her to grow academically and professionally in so many ways.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., a historically black sorority based on sisterhood, service, and scholarship. During the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semester she also was a part of TV Club and TV Practicum, where she was able to engage with students in her field and get the opportunity to broadcast athletic games for The BIG EAST and channels like ESPN. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, hanging out with her family and friends and listening to music.
