Diamond M. Powell

Diamond M. Powell is from Upper Marlboro, MD, and graduates in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree from The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. She is a Management major with a Social Justice minor. After graduating from St. John’s, Diamond plans to attend graduate school and eventually start her own nonprofit for women empowerment.

She chose St. John’s because she wanted to experience New York City while living on a close-knit college campus. Being a member of the St. John’s community for the past three years has given her many opportunities for networking, leadership, and community service.

“One day, I hope to contribute to the continuing success of the University, as they have contributed to mine,” she said.

She is a member of UNICEF as well as a Student Ambassador; she enjoys being one of the first faces prospective students meet on campus. During the Fall 2019 semester, she was a manager for GLOBE, a microloan program on campus that provides loans to budding entrepreneurs in developing countries. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and volunteering for a local girl empowerment organization.
