Graduation is one of life's most important and memorable milestones. As the St. John's University community prepares for this year's Commencement Exercises and events, we extend warm wishes to the families and friends who join us to celebrate the Class of 2020 on this momentous occasion.

Don't Forget...

  • Check www.stjohns.edu for the latest updates
  • Check www.weather.com for the latest forecast
  • Check your local news for road closings/delays
  • Doors will open an hour and a half prior to the start of each ceremony
  • Be sure to arrive to your seats at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremony
  • Seating is on a first-come, first serve basis in the Arena
  • Make arrangements with your graduate to identify a meeting location immediately following the ceremony

    Special Needs Seating Area for Family and Guests

    • Due to limited space, we are only able to offer seating to the person with special needs and one companion
    • For assistance, you are asked to enter through Gate 4 on Union Turnpike. Please see a Public Safety Officer for assistance.
    • Sign language interpreters will be present for the duration of the ceremonies. If you require these services, please have the graduating student inform their dean's office.

    Parking

    • Guests are permitted to park on campus. Please enter through Gate 3 on Utopia Parkway or Gate 4 on Union Turnpike.
    • Additional parking is available in the campus garages.  Entrance is off of Union Turnpike.
    • Please allow ample time to find parking.
    • If parking on our neighborhood streets, please be sure to follow local NYC parking regulations where applicable.

    • Light colors are best as it may be hot and sunny on the Great Lawn
    • Rain jacket 
    • Comfortable shoes
    • Sunglasses and hats
    • Camera
    • Sunscreen

    First Aid

    • There will be emergency medical personnel on site near St. Thomas More Church
    • If you need immediate assistance, please find a Public Safety Officer or a University Host in a red St. John's shirt

    Restroom Locations

    • Restroom Trailers on the Great Lawn
    • Marillac Hall, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Floors
    • St. Albert Hall, 1st Floor
    • St. John Hall, 2nd Floor for Women and 3rd Floor for Men
    • St. Thomas More Church ~ only for guests seated in the special needs seating area

    Special Needs Seating Area for Family and Guests

    • Due to the large number of guests in attendance, we are only able to offer seating to the person with special needs and one companion
    • Reserved parking will be located near St. Thomas More Church, and you are asked to enter through Gate 1 on Utopia Parkway. The seating section for guests with special needs is located at the front of the lawn on the left side, facing the stage. Please see a Public Safety Officer or a University Host in a red St. John's shirt for assistance.
    • Sign language interpreters will be present for the duration of the ceremony. If you require these services, please have the graduating student inform their dean's office.
    • Restrooms for guests seated in this area are located in St. Thomas More Church

    Parking

    • Guests are permitted to park on campus; however due to the large number of guests attending there will be a shortage of parking on campus. Please plan accordingly. 
    • Graduates and guests are advised to carpool.
    • If parking on our neighborhood streets, please be sure to follow local NYC parking regulations where applicable.

    Simulcast Location

    • Please ask any Public Safety Officer or University Host in a red St. John's shirt to direct you to the simulcast location
    • Seating in the simulcast location is limited and requires a ticket to enter.  Please plan accordingly.

    Web Viewing

    The Commencement Exercises will be streamed live at www.stjohns.edu for those who are unable to attend in person.
