Traditional Programs

Research says that an involved student is more likely to feel connected to the institution, continue through graduation, meet new friends, and become an effective leader who will add value to your resume.

Red Carpet Welcome takes place throughout the month of September and consists of activity fairs, athletics events, involvement opportunities, and social events.

University departments and student organizations host programming that is interactive, traditional, and fun.

This annual campus celebration takes place in October and encompasses athletic events, SJU Fest, Career Fair, Family Weekend, and alumni events.

Fall Fest culminates in Tip Off, a night of fun celebrating our men’s and women’s basketball teams.

To celebrate this season, Student Government, Multicultural Affairs, Campus Activities, and several student organizations deliver programs that help our diverse campus community appreciate the significance of the holidays.

Winter Carnival features festive events for the campus community to enjoy.

Winter Carnival events can include:

Ice Skating in New York
Take a trip with fellow St. John's students to ice skate in the city. This NYC holiday tradition is sure to become a cherished memory during your time at St. John’s.

Central Park Christmas
St. John's is bringing the spirit of Central Park to campus! Enjoy carolers, and toy soldier performers. Coffee and treats will also be served.

Dessert Party
Throughout the D'Angelo Center, enjoy holiday treats and live music.

Spring Month is an annual month of events that takes place during April. Campus Activities partners with several student organizations to create programming and activities that suits your interests.

Past Spring Month have included fashion shows, concerts, school pride game days, singing contests, and carnivals. The month of events is designed for students to have fun and enjoy the nice weather before finals week begins.

We have put together a week of events for our graduating class! It is our last hurrah, our way of saying thank you and our time to say goodbye. Come out to any or all of the events and make your last weeks as a Johnny a time you won’t forget.

You can purchase tickets at Campus Concierge (D’Angelo Center). All events are on a first-come, first-served basis. Every student must bring their StormCard and valid state/federal ID to all events.

Past events have included a barbecue, museum trip, sporting events, and dinners. Please check back here for updates and follow @sjuactivities on Instagram as well.
