Nia Movement with Dance Instructor Meredith Amato

Meredith Amato starts off Your Friday morning with a holistic, fun-filled, dance Nia Movement practice that is sure to lift your spirits! Today’s class will focus on: Celebrating and Embodying the Divine, Fabulous Feminine.

To kick off Women’s History Month, we will dance to a playlist celebrating all aspects of the divine feminine with a playlist to match! The Body’s Way tells us that we are balanced when our yin (feminine) is balanced with yang (masculine). This class will focus on balancing strength, stability, and powerful energy out with flexibility, mobility, and nurturing energy in. Get ready for a body balancing class including punches and kicks alongside hip circles and fluidity to leave your body energized and refreshed!

Nia Movement with Dance Instructor Meredith Amato

Meredith Amato starts off Your Friday morning with a holistic, fun-filled, dance Nia Movement practice that is sure to lift your spirits! Today’s class will focus on: Feet are the Hands that Touch the Earth.

Did you know that each foot has 26 bones, and that means the bones in your feet are 1/4 of the bones in your entire body? Our feet are the first message to our nervous system that all is safe and well. When we care for, condition, and open our feet, through conscious movement, the ripple effect through our nervous system results in the sensation of safety, stability, and ability to STAND with whatever presents itself in our fast-moving lives. This class will focus on foot techniques, positioning, and self-healing care as we play with stillness and movement to increase your total body comfort and ease.

Energetically, the pelvis holds the key to our creativity and expression. When we have discomfort in our hips or lower back, we feel tight and limited not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. Learning how to safely release these areas of tension while moving with expression and fun is the focus of this class. Through conscious awareness, with a sprinkle of sensual and sassy, we will explore how to keep your hips and lower back feeling better as you dance through life with greater confidence and control.
