As an integral part of our student's St. John's experience, we invite you to participate in the faculty greeting line to welcome and cheer on our graduates as they arrive to the July ceremonies.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the registration form sent to your St. John's email account and, if applicable, order your rental attire through Herff Jones, by no later than Tuesday, June 15, at 4:30 p.m. EST.
Once the in-person ceremony schedule has been finalized, you will receive an email with the final ceremony dates, times, and addition information.
Academic Attire Rentals - Herff Jones
If you need to rent academic attire, please follow the instructions below before June 15, 2021.
(Please note: your campus order number is the location for your attire pick-up and drop-off.)
Queens Attire Pick-Up and Drop-Off
If renting academic attire, academic attire must be picked up from the Office of University Events, which is located on the garden level of the University Center on the Queens campus, on Wednesday, July 7 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.); Thursday, July 8 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.); or Friday, July 9 (between 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.). Rental attire can be returned to the Office of University Events on Monday, July 19 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).
Staten Island Attire Pick-Up and Drop-Off
If renting academic attire, academic attire must be picked up from the Office of the Vice Provost in room 204 of Flynn Hall on the Staten Island campus on Wednesday, July 7 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) or Thursday, July 8 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Rental attire can be returned to the Office of the Vice Provost on Monday, July 19 (between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).
In accordance with New York state Department of Health (DOH) guidelines for commencement ceremonies, each ceremony will have limited student and guest capacity; graduates are welcome to bring two (2) guests. In addition, there will be no procession and recession of graduates, faculty, and stage, exchanging of items, hooding, and handshaking.

Following commencement guidelines, social distancing will be observed, all attendees will be temperature checked upon arrival, and facemasks must be worn at all times by everyone in attendance. Due to strict adherence to regulations, there can be no exceptions to the deadlines, testing requirements, or other protocols.
Please note that our in-person ceremony plans continue to be subject to New York City and New York State Department of Health regulations and approval.
