Thomas More Collection
The library's Thomas More Collection is one of the country's largest repositories of materials by and about Sir Thomas More, patron saint of lawyers, one of the remarkable figures of the English Reformation.
Although use of the collection is typically permitted in the Rare Books room only, some materials are available for check-out.

Ronald H. Brown Civil Rights Collection
The Ronald H. Brown Civil Rights Collection was started with a gift from Mrs. Mary E. Thompson in memory of her late husband, Dr. Leroy B. Thompson, an ardent supporter of civil rights. Ron Brown, an SJU alumnus (LLB 1970), was Secretary of Commerce (1993-1996) in the Clinton Administration.
The collection (Floor 2M) includes books, videos, microforms, and other materials on the African-American civil rights movement, affirmative action, segregation, voting rights, biographies, and archival materials from the files of the ACLU.

The Papers of Hugh L. Carey
The papers of Hugh L. Carey consists of 498 microfilm reels and 167 boxes (115 linear feet ) of papers -correspondence, newspaper clippings, background materials, pamphlets, appointment books, reports, and citations. It also includes books, photographs, plaques, film and sound recordings.
Congressional Files, 1961 – 1974; Legislative Staff/Office Files, Correspondence, and Public/Press Relations Personal, documents the personal activities and opinions of Congressman Carey.
Transitional Files, 1973 – 1974, Gubernatorial Campaign Files, and Hugh Carey’s preparations for taking office.
Gubernatorial Files, 1975 – 1982, Governor Carey’s personal papers, microfilmed copies of the Executive Chamber office records, Governor’s Personal Correspondence, Public/Press Relations, Administrative & Personal Office Files, Personal Files, and the Council of State Priorities/Staff Files.

John A. Gose Files - National Bankruptcy Commission
The collection consists of Commission letters and memoranda, correspondence received from third parties by Commission members, reports, news articles, and a wide variety of miscellaneous documents and materials compiled from 1995- 1997. The documents were Mr. Gose's personal copies but some of the materials may duplicate the contents of the Official Commission records that are held by the National Archives in Washington D.C.

The St. John's University School of Law Archives Collection
The St. John's University School of Law Archives Collection contains publications written by Law School Departments, faculty members and other personnel; tapes of symposia, special events and conferences given by and/or hosted at the Law School; yearbooks; photo albums; realia and artifacts; newsletters; student newspapers and publications; etc. Copies of journal articles, journal issues, and books where only a chapter is written by STJ related personnel are not retained.
