Alumni Library Access
As of the fall 2023 semester, the law library is once again available to alumni of the St. John's University School of Law. We are working to develop a formal access procedure. Until that procedure is in place, law school alumni may visit the library during our regular service hours so that our staff can admit you to the facility. Alumni Library Access benefits include the opportunity to:
Browse: Alumni can browse print books and periodicals.
Read: Alumni are welcome to sit in Library spaces and read Library materials in-house.
Access Guest Wifi: Alumni may connect their personal laptop and/or personal devices to SJU-Guest Wifi.
Scan: Alumni may use the scanners located on the 1st floor and 1st Mezzanine of the library; users may scan documents/images to a USB drive, Google Drive, or smartphone.
Print: Alumni may print using the WEPA printers available in the library. Printing is charged at the rate established by St. John's University IT. Instructions and cost information can be accessed on the St. John's University Service Desk page.
Alumni Library Access Limitations:
The Rittenberg Law Library’s primary mission is to serve the current students, faculty and staff of St. John's University School of Law. While alumni are welcome to request reference assistance during our regular reference hours, we are not able to conduct research or retrieve library sources on behalf of alumni.
Access is limited to library service hours only. There is no Alumni access during final-exam periods. Please consult the Academic Calendar for final exam dates.
Access to the physical library spaces does not grant access to digital or electronic resources, equipment, or services. Access to library-licensed electronic resources is limited to current St. John’s students, faculty, administrators, and staff and/or those who have both an active St. John's email address and sign-on credentials.
Library access does not confer borrowing privileges.
Rittenberg Law Library alumni visitors are expected to comply with the law library's policies.
