St. John’s students, faculty and alumni are always doing great things on campus and around the globe!
Why Scholarships Matter
One of the ways our most generous donors show their appreciation and love for St. John's is by establishing endowed funds which provide everlasting support. Endowed scholarships are gifts of $50,000 or more–payable outright or over several years–to a scholarship. The principal of endowment funds are held in perpetuity, and are invested while the income created from that investment is utilized to provided scholarship awards on an annual basis.
The investment objection for these endowments is to continue to increase the annual scholarship awards over time while providing as many students as possible the opportunity to attend St. John's.
Here's how endowed funds help St. John's students:
More than 500 Endowed scholarships.
More than 1,100 students awarded scholarships from endowed funds.
$2.9M raised for student scholarships of the 2019 President's Dinner. That's the equivalent of $58M in endowed funds.
$25.9M in annual gifts raised from generous alumni, parents, faculty, employees, and friends for our 16,884 undergraduate students.
The equivalent of $16,820 in institutional aid awarded annually per undergraduate student.
Number One Catholic institution in the nation on the list of "Colleges with the Highest Student-Mobility Rates."
