Immunization and Medical Insurance

To successfully register at St. John's University, international students must complete all Immunization and medical insurance forms issued by the University.

Immunization
New York State Public Health Law requires all students born on or after January 1, 1957, to be immunized against measles, mumps and rubella. Students must submit documentation of two doses of the measles and one dose of the mumps and rubella before classes begin. You will not be permitted to attend classes without proper documentation.

Medical Insurance

Upon registering at St. John's University, all F-1 and J-1 visa students are automatically enrolled in the University's mandatory medical insurance plan. The per semester charge is billed with other University fees at the time you register. Health Insurance coverage is mandatory for international students on an F1 or J1 visa and students must be enrolled in the University’s plan. The University plan cannot be waived.(Students in other non-immigrant statuses are welcome to purchase the plan if desired.)
