David N. Gachigo serves as the Associate Dean of Student Affairs on our beautiful St. John’s University Staten Island Campus. His diverse role is rooted in attaining student success and is immersed in coordinating the Office of Student Life in concert with other campus community partners through a collaborative effort in the areas of New Student Orientation, student engagement, student conduct as well in advising the Staten Island Campus Student Government Inc.
David received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from The University of Montana, Missoula, A Master of Arts in Government and Politics (International Relations Concentration) degree and a Graduate Certificate in International Law and Diplomacy from St. John’s University.

Auraine Scott serves as the Associate Director of Student Life on the Staten Island Campus. He is responsible for Fraternity and Sorority Life, orientation, sports and recreation activities and campus wide programing and activities.
Auraine received his BS in Psychology from Brooklyn College and Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University.

Java Johnnies is going virtual and we need you! Every member of the St. John’s community has the opportunity to participate in virtual Java Johnnies. Artists: Send us your videos singing, rapping, or performing a spoken word piece! Sign up online. Chefs: Get in the kitchen! We will be posting weekly recipes and we want to see what you come up with. Last but certainly not least: We need our judges.

Think about how your organization would like to approach the rest of the semester now that everyone is interacting remotely. Work with your team to come up with a few tangible goals for the remainder of the year. This can be anything from planning an online program, to thinking about elections and transitions, to hosting one final meeting. Setting goals will help your team stay focused, especially when you are working remotely.
