Application Scholarships

Admission applicants are automatically reviewed for merit scholarships, but additional application scholarships are also available. The deadline for Fall 2021 incoming students to apply is January 15, 2021. Students do not need to wait for an admission decision to apply for scholarships, though only students with a completed admission application on file will be considered.
Catholic Scholars ProgramCatholic Scholars take part in a four-year developmental program that translates faith into action. Prospective freshmen apply for this scholarship, and if chosen will receive a grant of up to $5,000 per year which will be awarded for four years of study.  Students will commit themselves to faith-based leadership training, service and prayer, and formation of a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader inspired by the Catholic tradition. Catholic Scholars assume important leadership roles within the community of faith and service at St. John's University in preparation for becoming faith-inspired Catholic leaders for life. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING EXCLUSIONS: Students entering a house of discernment sponsored by a diocese or religious community, or a college seminary or religious community formation program are ineligible to participate in the Catholic Scholars Program at St. John’s University. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 entering students was January 15, 2021.
Ozanam Scholars ProgramThis program provides a select group of scholars with a unique and innovative learning experience. The Ozanam Scholars Program connects small student groups with dedicated faculty to contribute to solving real world problems in local, national and international communities. Ozanam Scholars receive up to a $10,000 scholarship renewable annually for the four-year program. The Program is for first-time incoming freshman only. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 entering students was January 15, 2021.
The Peter J. Tobin College of Business Dean's ScholarshipWith a focus on providing an entrepreneurial, experiential, and global education to all undergraduate students, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business Dean’s Scholarship at St. John’s University seeks to recognize the highest achieving students from among all new undergraduate Tobin College students enrolling for the Fall 2021 entering class. To be considered, students should have a 92 cumulative high school GPA with a 1250 or better composite SAT or 28 or better composite ACT scores. Students applying without standardized test scores should have at least a 95 cumulative high school GPA. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 entering students was January 15, 2021.
Catholic Student ScholarshipSt. John's has a special commitment to preparing Catholic students for ethical leadership. Our Catholic Student Scholarship offers a limited number of awards (based on availability) to college-bound Catholic students regardless of the secondary school they attend, this includes non-Catholic high school institutions who enroll at St. John's University the semester following high school. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 entering students has been extended to March 1, 2021. The Notre Dame College Alumnae Association Sister Helen Flynn Endowed Scholarship

Established for those who choose to study at the Staten Island campus of St. John’s University in an environment conducive to Sister Helen Flynn’s ideals of service, education, and faith. The scholarship is available to new undergraduate freshman. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 entering students was January 15, 2021.

The School of Education Graduate Scholars in Education ScholarshipThis highly competitive scholarship is worth $6,000 a year toward a master’s program and may be renewed for an additional year. If eligible, it may provide a total of $12,000 toward a master’s degree. (The scholarship may be renewable for a third year, depending upon student eligibility and availability.) A grade point average of 3.25 or higher is required to apply. Scholarship applications must be signed by the chair before submission. Click here for the application.
