This is your official guide to academic policies and regulations at St. John’s University. Students are required to familiarize themselves with this bulletin. Primary responsibility for knowing and fulfilling all requirements rests on every individual student. The bulletin in effect at the time of admission or readmission governs degree requirements.

The University administration reserves the right, whenever advisable (1) to change or modify its schedule of tuition and fees and (2) to withdraw, cancel, reschedule or modify any course, program of study, or degree, or any requirement in connection with any of the foregoing.

Consistent with the University’s mission as a Catholic, Vincentian, global, and metropolitan institution of higher education, the University does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, age, sex (including sexual harassment and sexual violence), sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, marital status, citizenship status, disability, genetic predisposition or carrier status, status as a victim of domestic violence or status in the uniformed services of the United States (including veteran status) or any other protected category under applicable local, state or federal law in admission, treatment or access to its programs or activities, or in administering its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletics and other institutionally administered programs or activities generally made available to students at the University and with respect to employment at the University. USE OF THE NAME OF ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY
Students of St. John’s University, either individually or collectively, shall not, without the written consent of the proper authorities, use the name of St. John’s University or any of its units in any activity of whatsoever kind outside of the regular work of the school. Violation of this rule is regarded as sufficient cause for dismissal.

St. John’s University is chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. All University academic programs are registered with the New York State Education Department.
 

St. John’s University is approved by The State of New York to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. As a participant in NC-SARA, St. John’s University is authorized to offer its online degree programs to residents of all other states that participate in NC-SARA. Non-SARA States:
California: The California Bureau of private Postsecondary Education does not require out of state non-profit accredited institutions like St. John’s to register with them. Therefore, Bureau approval for the University to offer distance education in California is not required.
