Phi Eta Sigma
Phi Eta Sigma is a national honor society founded at the University of Illinois in 1923 that rewards academic excellence among first-year college students. Students become eligible for membership if they achieve a 3.5 cumulative grade point average at the end of their first year of study.
St. John’s University established the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society chapter on April 3, 2000. Phi Eta Sigma is an outward recognition of your academic accomplishments and is an incentive for continued high scholarship. It provides you with the opportunity to meet scholars from all academic disciplines. Membership in Phi Eta Sigma identifies you to employers and graduate schools as someone of superior academic ability and performance.
