St. John's University offers no-cost applications at Common Application or St. John's Application.

St. John's University Priority Application deadline for incoming freshmen is December 1. Students who submit and complete their application by December 1 will achieve Priority Applicant status, which means they will receive admission and merit award decisions by January 1!

GREAT NEWS!
At St. John’s, we want to reassure all incoming freshman students that if they decide to apply early as a test optional applicant (aka: without standardized test scores) and later have the chance to take or re-take the SAT and/or ACT this year, students can send us their official standardized test scores later in the admission process and we will re-evaluate their initial merit scholarship offer. If the student is eligible for a higher merit scholarship based on those official standardized test scores, we will increase the scholarship accordingly.

FAFSA Information

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) became available October 1 at studentaid.gov. Students are encouraged to file as soon as possible, noting the St. John's University Priority Filing Deadline is December 15.

To help guide students as they file, St. John's University offers a FAFSA Checklist 2021-22 to help students avoid the most common mistakes they make when completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Do students need to wait for an admission decision to file?

No. As a matter of fact, the key to financing a university education is to start the financial aid process as early as possible. Students can now visit studentaid.gov to begin the financial aid application process. When filing, please note that St. John’s University’s federal school code is 002823.

Why is the FAFSA so important?

The FAFSA information is needed to determine a student's eligibility for need-based financial aid. This includes federal, state, and University need-based grants, work, and loan opportunities. The information will be used to create a complete financial aid package for students accepted to St. John’s University.
