Dramatic Arts, Film, and Television Minor

The Minor in Dramatic Arts enables students to develop their knowledge and creative techniques as actors, playwrights, directors and scholars of the theatre, and the dramatic arts in general.

By combining the intellectual, artistic, experimental and cultural diversity the performing arts offers, students receive vigorous training in the styles, practices and methodologies of the performing art in order to advance their artistic abilities, while also receiving extensive theoretical instruction on how the theatre has, throughout history, manage to shift cultural perceptions and influence political thought and social attitudes.  All of this together, the minor in Dramatic Arts gives students the necessary training to compete in the highly competitive world of the performing arts, break new artistic barriers, discover their individual artistic voices so that they can pursue a professional career.

An audition is required before students may declare this minor.
