We invite you and your families to submit videos, images, or messages of congratulations. We suggest a 15-45 second video, and we encourage you to submit one by Tuesday, May 26, at the link here: Submit your messages here. Throughout the day on May 31, we will be celebrating the graduating class of 2020 online and in social media. We’ll be sending the link out to you on the 31st, and we encourage you to share it with your family and friends.
We’ll be sending you a celebratory commencement box and hope that you will receive it in advance of May 31. It will be shipped to the address that you indicated on your request form. While this doesn’t replace an in-person commencement ceremony, we hope that it will help you and your families mark this moment of achievement as your degrees are officially conferred.
While we hope to have an opportunity to celebrate with you as a class after the bar exam, the prospects for large-scale gatherings in the fall remain uncertain. So, in an effort to ensure that we can gather as a group with your families, we have rescheduled your commencement exercises to Sunday, June 6, 2021. Coming a full year after the completion of your studies, it will be a unique celebration. We are looking forward to working with a group of students from the Class of 2020 to plan how to make both a potential fall gathering and the June 2021 commencement ceremony a meaningful and memorable celebration for your class.
Because the commencement exercises will not be until 2021, rather than provide you with regalia, the Law School will be providing you with an alternative, and enhanced, graduation gift. But, because some of you are nevertheless interested in obtaining regalia this spring, we have arranged with the regalia company to make it available for purchase. If you would like to purchase regalia now, you may do so through Herff Jones here: regalia link. Please note, you will be receiving the tam and tassel in the celebratory box that is being mailed to you, so there is no need to purchase that. Also, there’s no need in general to purchase regalia now, as you will have the opportunity to do so again prior to your June 2021 commencement ceremony.
