M.S. in Actuarial Science
Actuaries are professionals who use their strong quantitative skills to place a price on risk. This allows insurance companies to provide coverage against a variety of loss events, ranging from a tree falling on a house to a cargo ship sinking.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of actuaries is expected to grow by 18 percent between 2019 and 2029—making the profession one of the best career paths to pursue.
GSRM’s 30-credit program can be completed by full-time students in as little as 18 months. Courses cover the syllabi of four Society of Actuaries examinations, as well as three Validation by Educational Experience subjects.
We are the only Center of Actuarial Excellence in New York and one of only 20 in the United States. This designation is determined by the Society of Actuaries and is the highest level of recognition they offer.

While individuals from a wide range of backgrounds succeed as actuaries, those who choose this profession typically have strong mathematic and quantitative skills.
