The Peter J. Tobin College of Business’s Eta Mu Chapter of the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals, Beta Alpha Psi, has been named a Distinguished Chapter for its outstanding efforts during the 2016-17 academic year.

The announcement of the honor came in an Oct. 13 letter from Dr. Sandra B. Richtermeyer, CPA, CMA, Beta Alpha Psi’s 2017-2018 President, to Tobin College Dean Norean R. Sharpe, Ph.D.

“Recognition as a Distinguished Chapter is a significant accomplishment,” Richtermeyer wrote. “Under the leadership of Professor (Biagio) Pilato , the Eta Mu Chapter has far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism, and leadership.”

“Tobin is honored to receive this honor in recognition of our talented students and dedicated faculty,” said Dean Sharpe.

Assistant Professor of Accountancy Biagio Pilato, J.D., the chapter’s faculty advisor, noted that “Eta Mu has constantly been recognized by Beta Alpha Psi.”
