Intramurals

The Intramural program at St. John’s University provides formal recreational sports opportunities to all students, faculty, staff and administrators by offering an opportunity for interesting and rewarding competition in men’s, women’s and co-rec activities. The program offers a variety of activities that the entire university community can participate in regardless of preference or athletic ability.

Campus Recreation arranges schedules and playing space, provides equipment and furnishes student officials. Officials will be provided for the team sports, when necessary, by the Campus Recreation Department. For competition in individual sports, the contestants are responsible for officiating their own matches.

Currently we offer flag football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

How to Sign Up

To sign-up for leagues, you must create an account on IMLeagues.com. You can then create a team or join a friend’s team. For more information on using IM Leagues, please see the instructions at the bottom of this page.

IMLeagues.com Instructions

IMLeagues.com is specifically designed for college intramural departments. You can conduct online sign up and scheduling, customized team pages, message boards, and much more.

All intramural participants will be required to create an account on IMLeagues.com. IMLeagues offers a live support button on the bottom right corner of all pages; please use this button if you have any technical difficulties.

Creating an IMLeagues Account

1. Go to www.imleagues.com/StJohns/Registration.
   Note: You may also create an account from the main IMLeagues page or log in with Facebook if your stjohns.edu email account is connected to your Facebook.
2. Enter your information, using your @stjohns.edu e-mail, and click submit.
3. You will be sent an activation email; click the link in the e-mail to activate your IMLeagues account and login.
4. You should be automatically joined to St. John's University; if not, search schools by clicking the “Schools” link.

Signing up for an Intramural Sport

1. Log in to your IMLeagues.com account.
2. Click the Create/Join Team button at the top right of your user home page.
   Note: You may also click on the St. John’s University link on the IMLeagues homepage.
3. The current sports will be displayed; click on the sport you wish to join.
4. Choose the league you wish to play in (e.g., Men’s, Women’s, Co-Rec).
5. Choose the division you’d like to play in (e.g., Monday at 5 p.m., Tuesday at 5 p.m.).
6. You can join the sport one of three ways:
   1. Create a Team (for team captains)
      • Captains can invite members to their team by clicking the “Invite Members” link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be joined to your team.
        • If they’ve already registered on IMLeagues: search for their name, and invite them.
        • If they haven’t yet registered on IMLeagues: scroll down to the “Invite by Email Address” box, and input their email address.
   2. Join a Team
      1. Use the Create/Join Team Button at top right of every page.
      2. Accepting a request from the captain to join his team.
      3. Finding the team and captain name on division/league page and requesting to join.
      4. Going to the captain’s playercard page, viewing his team, and requesting to join.
   3. Join as a Free Agent
      • ​You can list yourself as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as you’d like. You will be visible to all members of the site and can request to join teams, or post information about yourself so teams can request to add you to their team.

Payment for forfeit fees is made via Paypal on IMLeagues.com. For help using Paypal, click the "Help" option on the IMLeagues.com payment page.
