Ignatius A. Grande

Ignatius Grande is a Director at Berkeley Research Group where he advises clients on issues relating to electronic discovery, digital forensics, information management, and data privacy.

Grande has served as a court-appointed neutral forensic examiner for several matters, has served in a special master role on eDiscovery disputes, and he has worked with clients as an eDiscovery advisor. Grande’s litigation experience includes areas such as trade secret disputes, eDiscovery strategy, evidence spoliation, employment disputes, and regulatory investigations.

Grande often works with companies and law firms to address complex information management issues, including the onboarding of new software and technologies, including artificial intelligence software. He also advises companies on their data privacy and data security practices and helps them to understand their regulatory obligations. He advises corporate clients on putting in place sound information management practices and has drafted and revised a wide range of corporate policies.  

Grande graduated from Yale College in 1996 and Georgetown University Law Center in 1999.  He began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable James M. Munley of the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  He worked as an associate at Clifford Chance US LLP and as eDiscovery Counsel for Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP.  

Grande served as Chair of the New York State Bar Association Commercial & Federal Litigation Section and is a former President of the New York Metro Chapter of the Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS).  He is a frequent writer and speaker on topics relating to eDiscovery, AI, and cybersecurity.
