2019 St. Patrick's Day Parade

Join us for the 2022 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC!

Parade Details

Date: Thursday, March 17, 2022
Assembly Time: 2:45 p.m.
Place: Assemble at West 47th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue (closer to 5th Avenue)
Our spot in the parade is after the County Tyrone Society of New York and ahead of Clan na Gael, Edward Daly Club.

All participants must preregister here.

Once on Fifth Avenue, it takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete the parade. If the weather is cold, it may take less time. If it is warm, it may take more time.

Many external factors impact the exact time that we step off onto Fifth Avenue. It is not unusual to wait between 30 minutes and an hour to actually get onto Fifth Avenue. Because there is no way to exactly predict when our delegation will step off, it is best to be at our assigned spot (i.e., West 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues) at our assigned time (i.e., 2:45 p.m.).

Getting to the Parade

Please be aware that the University will not provide transportation to the parade. All participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the parade.

Things You Should Know

  1. The St. Patrick's Day Parade takes place rain or shine, so inclement weather does not impact, in any way, our plans to march.
  2. Dress appropriately for the weather. Remember that you will be outside for a long time. Wear comfortable shoes and do not wear any attire that would draw attention to you or embarrass the University. No beads, oversized hats, green wigs, etc.
  3. You will be asked to wear a St. John's University sash to show St. John's pride, and also so you can identify the actual members of our group. It is imperative not to let outside stragglers join or disrupt our official delegation.
  4. We will carry one banner that identifies St. John's University; no other banners of any kind are permitted.
  5. No eating, drinking, or smoking is permitted in the marching line.
  6. No baby strollers, wagons, scooters, or anything with wheels is permitted in the marching line.
  7. No pets or mascots are allowed in the marching line.
  8. Groups should attempt to march in straight, organized lines.

We look forward to marching with you in the 2022 St. Patrick's Day Parade. If you have questions, please contact:
