The School of Education at St. John’s University offers well-renowned programs in four academic departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Education Specialties, Counselor Education, and Administration and Instructional Leadership. These programs are at the master, advanced certificate, and doctoral levels. St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a School Psychology program at the master of science level.
The Peter J. Tobin College of Business offers a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in educational leadership that prepares professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in research and current trends in education, with a view to becoming administrative and policy leaders in the field of education. This program option provides educational leaders with a combination of technical and managerial coursework needed for dealing with future challenges in education.
Robert M. Mangione, Ed.D.

Assistant Professor, The School of Education
Dr. Robert M. Mangione is the Director of the Long Island Graduate Center in Hauppauge and an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at St. John’s University. He is an academic generalist who applies specialized skills that touch upon external, academic, faculty, and student affairs to build partnerships and programs that encourage student enrollment and success.
Before joining the School of Education, Rob was the Assistant Dean for External Affairs and the Director of Graduate Advisement in the College of Professional Studies. He has also previously held other positions including Assistant Dean for Administration and Manager of Operations in the Peter J. Tobin College of Business; Assistant Director, Orientation Coordinator, and Self-Pace Program Coordinator in the University Freshman Center; Academic Advisor; and adjunct Associate Professor.
Rob Mangione earned a Doctor of Education degree concentrated in Higher Education Administration from St. John's University. He also holds advanced graduate certificates in Instructional Leadership, International Law and Diplomacy, and Public Administration, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Government and Politics.
Before building a career in higher education, Rob worked at multiple organizations in various capacities performing duties related to governmental relations, business networking, and insurance management.
Committed to mentoring students and building inclusive communities through respectful interaction with colleagues and stakeholders, Rob embraces the St. John’s University mission to provide equal educational opportunity. He strives to create academic, experiential, or professional experiences that encourage lifelong attainment.
Dr. Mangione remains active in various community and professional organizations. His current research interests are eclectic with recent publications that focus on both traditional and nontraditional student issues.
