Opioid Overdose Prevention Training - scheduled for December 13, 2018
Each day in NYC, about 3 people die from a drug overdose. Opioids are among the main drugs leading to these fatalities. As a recently registered Opioid Overdose Prevention Program with the NYS Department of Health, St. John’s University now offers trainings for our students, faculty, staff, administrators and the public to help save lives by identifying the signs of opioid overdose and responding appropriately to an overdose situation. Participants will learn how to use naloxone in cases of suspected opioid overdose and will also receive a naloxone kit (provided by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene).
The workshop will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 10:00am to 11:00am.
