LinkedIn Learning Arrives 1/12/2019 for all who have an active account!

 New Year!  New learning platform! (Reminder)


Your account will be upgraded to LinkedIn Learning!


When will the upgrade occur?  January 12, 2019!


What will this mean?  At midnight on January 12, 2019, will be going away and you will not have access to the online learning programs for approximately 18-24 hours.  After the upgrade is completed, you will receive an email to activate your LinkedIn Learning account.  


What email address will be sending the activation link?  Look for an email from the following address: [email protected].  The activation email should be sent to your Inbox.   If you do not see it by January 14, 2019, then look in your Junk folder or Other folder (for Office 365 users).


What is the process for activating my LinkedIn Learning account?   Click on Connecting your LinkedIn Profile to follow the steps to activate your LinkedIn Learning account.  Reminder:  You can create a separate LinkedIn Learning account without connecting it to your LinkedIn profile.   The choice is yours.   Just be aware that the default option is to connect your learning profile with your LinkedIn account. Therefore, if you do not wish to do this, take your time working through the set-up steps. Note:  See the last page of the document, Connecting your LinkedIn Profile, for the steps to create a separate LinkedIn Learning account. If you choose to create a separate LinkedIn learning account, then you will be asked to sign in with the St. John’s account and to enter the account credentials you created.   For the separate LinkedIn Learning account, please use your full St. John’s email address to login and the password you created.  


If I use my LinkedIn profile, will St. John’s be able to view my profile?  No, Training & Development will only have access to view course content, course history and login history. 


What do I need to do to prepare for the upgrade?   Nothing as long as you have an active account.   However, if you have not yet activated your account, your account will not transfer over during the upgrade.  Therefore, we encourage you to activate your account before the January 12, 2019, upgrade date.  Those with inactive accounts were sent an email the week of December 3-7, 2018, encouraging them to activate their accounts along with the Welcome email from to do so.  A second Welcome email was sent to all inactive account holders on January 9, 2019.  If you do not have the Welcome email that was sent to you, please call Training & Development at 718-990-2330 by noon on January 11, 2019, and we will resend you the Welcome email so that you can activate your account.  If you did not receive an email, then your account is currently active and no action is required at this time.  Inactive account holders may request to have their accounts activated after the migration.
